The Digital Access Project is designed to be a lifeline for newcomer refugees, Most refugees have a basic phone. But you can’t use a phone to go to school, apply for jobs, or complete many application forms. For that you need a laptop. Here’s how the project works and why it’s so crucial:

How the Project Works

Sourcing Laptops
We focus on acquiring Grade A refurbished laptops. These are high-quality, older models that still have a good product life and can meet basic usage requirements for education and work.

Distribution
Laptops are distributed to refugees within the first few weeks of their arrival. This swift provision ensures that they can immediately start integrating into their new community.

Partnerships
Our collaboration with Renewed Computer Technology (RCT) ensures that we can offer these laptops at an affordable cost, making the program sustainable and scalable.
Importance to Newcomer Refugees
Educational Access
Laptops enable refugees to continue their education, access online learning resources, and participate in virtual classrooms. This is especially important for children and young adults who need to keep up with their studies.

Our partnership with Renewed Computer Technology provides us with some laptops, but our waiting list is 4 times as long. We continue to pursue corporate sponsorship to help our Digital Access Program. In the meantime we purchase refurbished laptops.
