Dil Ba Dil

Dil Ba Dil is a trauma-informed, culturally competent support group for Afghan newcomer women, promoting mental health and well-being.

Collaborative Partners:
Canadian Connections and ABRAR Trauma and Mental Health Services

We are proud to partner with ABRAR Trauma and Mental Health Services, a federal not-for-profit organization established in 2020. ABRAR is committed to creating human-centered, trauma-informed, and culturally safe brave spaces that foster healing, growth, and resilience for newcomers and immigrants.

Together, we collaborate to provide national mental health initiatives for marginalized youth, women, and families, including immigrant and newcomer communities. Our joint efforts aim to create a supportive environment where all individuals can thrive and contribute to the social and economic fabric of Canada.

Goals and Objectives

  • Better understand and learn about the needs of Afghan women after their migration process and how it impacted their mental well-being.
  • Learn how to support Afghan women and girls and empower them through the healing and recovery process.
  • Develop and implement community-need-based culturally competent programs for mental health and well-being.
  • Empower and encourage participants to implement what they learn and use it to support their families, friends, and communities.
  • Enable women with knowledge and skills to help maintain a healthy lifestyle, such as coping skills, self-care, communication skills, and understanding and supporting children in the new country.
  • Provide a brave space for expression, sharing experiences, and building friendships and connections.
  • Empower women to take the lead in their lives, thriving towards their success.
